I'm 20, in college, and am definitely a Music Whore if you've ever seen one!!! So, I used to live in Japan, I lived there for 4 and half years on a military base, until March 2007, when we moved to Seoul, Korea. Japan is the shit, the greatest country in the world, seriously, and I want to find my way back there one day, marrying a Japanese dude seems the best option right now, and I think Nero's single xP I also have a Merry and Nero obsession you should probably be aware of right off the bat.
So, seeing as I lived in Japan for a while, I totally absorbed the culture and love it, especially their popular culture. I LOVE Jrock and Visual Kei, it's about all the music I listen to lately, much better than anything coming out of America right now, so I'm always trying to spread the Jrock love and give these amazing artists a wider audience, so, I'm spreading my obsession in my rotation journal, which is this, duh. XD
While I've been living in Seoul, I've started to also listen to Krock and am slowly but surely building a nice collection. So, bowing to popular demand, hehehe, Music Whore also rotates Korean Rock, a genre that is still not as popular as Jrock now, but I'm hoping to convert some fans because The TRAX isn't the only Krock band in existance ya know! XD
I rotate weekly, and include New Releases, My Picks and Requests. Requests usually take up the biggest chunk of each week, I set aside about 10 or 11 slots, and depending on how many New Releases the week has determines how many My Picks I will have. I like to concentrate mostly on VK indie bands, but upload most anything in the Jrock spectrum. Krock hasn't yet caught on to much to the VK genre, but eyeliner and platform shoes doesn't really define a band now does it? :P So, concerning Krock, I also still prefer indie type bands, nothing too mainstream and "soft", preferably a band most haven't heard of, hehehe. Depending on how hectic my life gets, I will sometimes temporarily go on hiatus, but that doesn't happen too often at all, and I always give a friendly heads up before I do go away for a while :) I don't think it's nice to be so selective about who you friend and who gets the all mightly privelage of downloading from your site, haha, so I welcome anyone that wants to friend me, and as long as you don't piss me off too badly, you can enjoy all the downloading fun from me you want! :D
General Rules
1. I would really love to avoid lawsuits, haha, so the same thing applies to this rotation journal as any other music sharing site, THE MUSIC FILES SHARED HERE ARE MEANT AS SAMPLES AND TO BE USED FOR SAMPLING PURPOSES ONLY. All the music I share has either been bought by myself, or by one of my wide network of friends, or it's a file I have permission to re-distribute from someone else, so it's all legal and paid for :)
2. If you like something you sample here support the artists and buy it for yourself. Too often bands have to disband over money issues and it's important to help these artists keep on making fantastic music by wipping out that credit card of yours and helping to put ramen in these Jrockers sexy little tummies :D
3. Be a good person and comment on anything you take. It's hard work throwing this together every week, plus updating playlists and leftovers, so at least be a good "friend" and say thanks.
